Author Interview
1:How different is INNOVERA YAKOV: THE JOURNEY OF A THOUSAND EYES from other books out there? Innovera Yakov: The Journey of A Thousand Eyes is the first installment in an action-packed fantasy drama where characters with powers of healing and destruction live, love, compete and disappear without a trace while they are being prepared for ‘The Journey’. Innovera Yakov is a faraway planet in a faraway universe: under five moons and two brilliant suns that never set. The wise words of Odors Apeno guide from within the Learning Dome; the Circle of Knowing decides their fate; the forbidden forests of the Dimmer Zone swallow trespassers. And at the very edges of Innovera Yakov there is always the terrifying watery darkness of Verheer. We meet Ayana, the questioning outsider, forever searching for herself and the truth of their world; Vinton, her protector. Gamma and Blu Tara are beautiful, fiery twins who can kill with one look. Innovera Yakov: the journey of a thousand eyes is fantasy fiction and more: it is also a story that explores the desire for acceptance, the need to belong, the importance of self-belief, the danger of secrets, the pain of betrayal and the power of love.
2: What was your favorite chapter or part to write?
Visualising the world my characters live in. I love mind-mapping that world and thinking of the possible dangers of falling in love in that world, including the terrible jealousies and rivalries that threaten to destroy the ones involved.
 3: Any pet peeves?
Grass! I really have a phobia of standing on grass and I hate having to explain this to people. Going to a park is an unleasant experience, because while other people simply run across it, I tend to walk the long way around. If anyone notices, the questions begin: What are you doing? Why would you do that? Then I would have to explain my dislike of grass and I'm both annoyed and embarrassed when doing that. This is where the pet peeve comes in.
4: Why should we read your book?
Apart from being an action-packed, romantic adventure, Innovera Yakov: The Journey of A Thousand Eyes is a story about the power of love and loyalty. It is about the desire to become stronger, better beings, and the need to accept yourself and to embrace your strengths and talents in order to make the most of the gift of life. It is what most readers talk to me about when they've finished reading it. Some of them have even thanked me.
I think there is something for everyone in the novel: adventure, romance and valuable life-lessons.
5: What is next for your writing?
I am working on the second book in the series and I already have ideas for the third and fourth novel.
6: If you are going to be born again, what would you like to be?
I would like to be a bird. It would be wonderful to be able to fly and be anywhere you want to without restriction. Next to life, freedom must be the greatest gift. It’s a wonderful privilege.

Can fighting for the right side be the wrong thing to do?

Draven, the tyrant ruler of Elyndia for the last one thousand years, searches for the one who can fulfill his prophecy.

The Paldins, an elite band of warriors sworn to protect their way of life at all cost, search for the one with the ability to bring their world crumbling down.

An innocent girl, tormented by demons only she can see, lives on the brink of insanity and longs for a life of peace.

When seventeen-year-old Jade Rosenberg reads from an antique book, she has no idea she just read an incantation awakening her inherited power. But when opposing--and equally terrifying--groups invade her home, she learns she is descended from an enchanted realm and a member of a powerful race thought to have been hunted to extinction.

Ripped from her world, Jade is forced to seek refuge from those who want her dead. She is given one of two options and the time has come fro her to make a choice:  assassinate their sworn enemy....

Or sacrifice her soul.

AUTHOR BIO
Kriston Johnson lives in Southwest Washington with her husband, teenage son, and miniature Australian Shepherd. Her home rests at the fringe of an old growth forest that she insists is the home of Jason Voorhees. Her husband thinks that’s a ridiculous assumption, because everyone knows it’s really Bigfoot. Every summer Kriston participates in the annual pilgrimage to Faerieworlds, a real life faerie realm here on Earth, and has an unhealthy obsession with Star Wars, The Vampire Diaries, and Iron Man. Awakened is her first novel. You can visit her online at www.kristonjohnson.blogspot.com.

Even In Darkness
(Between #3)
by Cyndi Tefft
Pub. Date: April 1st, 2013

Summary ~ from goodreads ~

I thought it was over, that all our troubles were behind us.

We  had a fairy tale castle wedding surrounded by family and friends.  Aiden wore a dress kilt, looking so handsome it made my heart squeeze, and I floated on air in a white version of the ball gown he'd cast for me in Versailles.  Flower girl, ring bearer, Scottish ceilidh afterward - check, check, and check. It was perfect.

We were supposed to live happily ever after.

But that was before I walked in to find another woman in his bed, a demon with blood red eyes who'd disguised herself as me in order to get what she wanted most: a child from heaven transporter.

And it was in that moment - watching my entire world crumble to the ground - that I knew.

This was not over. Not by a long shot.

If you haven't read the first two books,
READ THEM!!!

♥♥Beautiful cover! I added it to my Want to Read list on Goodreads!
This looks like it's going to be a great book!

Hell's Hollow
by Summer Stone
Pub. Date:  March 2013
Genre: YA Paranormal

Summary ~

When Seraphina was younger, she healed her best friend's injured hand. Terrified by the inexplicable cure, the girl shunned her. From that day on, Seraphina found herself without friends, a freak and an oddity. And so she obeyed her mother’s rule to refrain from using her innate ability, heeded her mother's warning that its use could land her in the local mental health facility alongside her aunt and grandmother.

But when sixteen-year-old Seraphina finds a mysterious, wounded boy hiding in the hollow in the woods behind her house, she can't hold out against the overpowering urge to help him. She is drawn to him each night, and as they come to know one another, their irresistible attraction blooms.

She longs to uncover his secrets — where he comes from and why he's hiding and how he came to be so wounded — and to share her own, though she knows it's forbidden. And while her healing touch seems to be helping him, it's hurting her. When the symptoms of psychosis — experienced by the women in her bloodline who used their powers — begin to plague Seraphina, she is faced with the unbearable choice of saving her sanity or the boy she’s come to love.
